Feelings

My feelings are as you will read in these lines,
I have tried to erase you from the heart of me so many times.
What attracted me to you in the first place
Other than your bright eyes, warm smile, and beautiful face
Escapes me for the moment, it was so long ago,
The way you walked and talked, perhaps, but this I know
You have been a part of me no matter how remote,
We went with out contact for long periods of time, you called
and I began to float
On that proverbial cloud as you "made my day".
Sometimes I needed to hear your voice, I called just to say....."Hello"
You answered, I trembled, my thoughts ran wild, but how could
you know?
I was never very physically close to you
Except when we danced a time or two
Your fragrance, the warmth of your touch
Can my heart really stand to pound this much?
To hold and kiss you was my ultimate desire
Fate would not let this transpire
As the song goes "Always wanting you, but never having you"
Why, why after all this time do I still feel the way I do?
