Chance Encounters

Chance encounters, impulsive moves,
input from others who disapprove.
Spontaneous action, excitement invites,
dismissing the boredom of tedious nights.

I can't explain this move I made,
but the fun I had, I would never trade.
A stranger you were when the night began,
and to be so impulsive was not in my plan.

But a chance I took, it was bold I confess,
and eagerness to know you as well, I guess.
What was this intrigue that sparked my move?
That intuition was right thus my need to prove?

Whatever the reason, I’m glad that I did
let impulse take over, ignoring forbid.
If we just let life’s nature take its own course,
the fear of rejection becomes less of a source.

We can’t always win; it’s not in the cards,
but taking life’s chances would become less hard.
We search the world over for that perfect match,
but the real bottom line… is not in the catch.

It’s in our ability to relax and be real,
and to really listen when a heart is revealed.
That’s the real magic of two hearts in tune,
and if your heart is open, it can’t help but bloom.
