Earth Angels

My world had lost its ray of light,
my hope diminished, my faith took flight.
Sadness surrounded the core of my soul,
pain and sorrow had taken their toll.
I wanted to sleep and never awake,
with eyes wide open my heart did break.
The only time my pain would ease,
when I was sleeping, the hurt would seize.
The angels from heaven then touched my heart,
and whispered so softly "your healing will start".
"You then will know when the time is near"
with eyes wide open you're see it so clear".
This, from my friends, I cherish so much,
their words of wisdom, my heart they did touch.
"Trust me when I tell you the hurting stops,
the fear subsides and the sun again tops.
For no one's universe is perpetually dark,
with friends holding candles with bright golden sparks.
Friends are quiet angels that lift us to our feet,
when we've forgotten how, to stand from defeat".
Real friends stand by us when the sun stops its shine,
while offering sanity when we lose our mind.
Our candle when the darkness consumes our soul,
our rock and foundation when we're no longer whole.
For you, my cherished friends, you've touched my soul,
and I know through your wisdom, again I'll be whole.
You've given me hope that a new day is near,
and I'll finally stop this flowing of tears.
